Peace Of Mind

After discussions with many family members of seniors, Caregiver professionals, and experienced Data Scientists, we designed the StackCare app to deliver key insights that would be easy to understand at a glance.

When we’re not feeling well we tend to spend more time in bed and typically more time in the bathroom so changes in these patterns are often an early indicator of developing problems. Add in activity levels and we have a quick indicator if something is not right.

Most falls occur at night or early in the morning and typically in the bedroom or bathroom, so those are key areas for StackCare’s AI algorithms to be scanning 24/7.

Finally, environment is hugely important. Overheating can quickly lead to dehydration in seniors and, in winter, hypothermia is a real risk from an accidentally left open window or door.

Sleep Hours

Daytime tiredness can easily lead to falls or minor accidents at home. Irregular sleep patterns may be indicative of an underlying health problem or a developing one.

Bathroom.png

Bathroom Visits

Stack’s infrared sensors don’t ‘see’ why the resident is visiting the bathroom but sudden changes in the number of bathroom visits are often indicative of a health issue.

Activity Levels

See at a glance that Mom or Dad is up and about. Alternatively, you can quickly see if activity levels are very low which may be indicating fatigue or not feeling well.

Room Temperatures

A comfortable environment is not only conducive to well-being, it’s also an indicator that seniors are not at risk from temperature extremes.

Notifications.png

Alert History

The notifications tab provides an immediate look at alert history, helping you see if there’s a pattern developing.

Care Group

Add family members, and/or your professional Care Giver, so that they can also see the app; there’s even direct messaging between Care group members.

Daily Update

Not all notifications need to be bad news... Our brand new product feature “Daily Update” provides an added layer of peace of mind to our customers! StackCare will automatically send you a notification every day, at the same time, that all is ok with your Mom or Dad! So even if you haven’t had a chance to call them or to check the app, you can still feel reassured that you will know if Mom or Dad needs help!

Notifications - You Decide!

Not everybody needs or wants the same notifications, so StackCare makes it easy to choose which you want to see and simply turn off any you don’t want.

We are constantly adding additional custom options to select your own thresholds for activity levels or nighttime alerts. For example: Mom goes to bed every night around 1:00am? Maybe you don’t want to receive notifications that she’s in the bathroom at 12:30am.

StackCare sends standard message format notifications with sound options. Simply use the standard settings on your phone, that you’re already used to, to ensure that you see and hear notifications when they come in.

We send notifications as and when necessary, regardless of the time. If something doesn’t look right at 2:00am or 2:00pm we’ll let you know.

Nighttime Falls

Statistically, the great majority of falls take place at night or early in the morning and getting up at night to use the bathroom is a fact of life for seniors. Feeling sleepy, poor lighting, or being ‘blinded’ by the light, often become contributing factors precipitating a fall. There’s never a good place to fall but the bathroom is usually small with lots of hard surfaces so the risk of injury is high; it’s even worse at night when there’s no one around to respond. StackCare aims to cover as many scenarios as possible.

Night Bathroom Long.png

Overstay

A potential fall or a health issue, but being in the bathroom for a long time during the night is never a good sign.

Night Bathroom Visits.png

Frequency

Whether it’s fetching a glass of water or needing to use the toilet, repetitive visits lead to disturbed sleep and increased fall risk.

NightBathroom Cumulative.png

Cumulative

One visit for 10 minutes might not be an issue, but repeated visits add up to potential underlying health issues.

Out Of Sight, Not Out Of Mind

Maybe Mom or Dad just decided to sleep late today but it could also be that something is not quite right; StackCare will let you know if your loved one’s usual pattern has changed.

One feedback idea from our customers was that they wanted an alert if their loved one hadn’t come home from shopping so we created an algorithm to specifically look at occupancy. And another had their grandmother fall in a room at night where they didn’t have a sensor so we added the nighttime monitor to send an alert for people who either don’t make it to bed or don’t return to bed after getting up for any reason.

New features will continue to be added as needed, so the whole system stays up-to-date, even for existing customers!

Ap About.png

Up & About

Sends a notification if there’s a change to typical morning activity patterns; not getting out of bed within normal timeframes may indicate a problem.

Day Monitor.png

Zero Activity

Maybe Mom went out for the day? StackCare will let you know there’s no one home. Customize the settings if there’s a risk of Mom falling somewhere out of sensor range.

Night Monitor.png

Up At Night

Your loved one is sleeping in their armchair, or maybe didn’t return to bed after a bathroom visit? StackCare will let you know if it’s not detecting them in the bedroom.

iPhone or Android, we’ve got it covered…

StackCare works on iPhones and Android phones in exactly the same way, and even across different phones within the same Care Group. So if you use an iPhone but other family members have Android phones don’t worry it’s all taken into account by StackCare’s notification system!

Got a Smart Watch?

StackCare notifications are automatically sent to your phone and if you have a smart watch connected they’ll appear there also!

Our notifications match your phone/watch settings so you can customize in any way you’re used to. Phone/watch on silent for any reason? No problem, use ‘vibrate’ settings and StackCare will follow accordingly.

Day and night our aim to is to deliver peace of mind to you in any way we can.
